Hoshizaki Launches Its Smallest Ever Compact Tabletop Commercial Dishwasher

Overcoming installation hurdles and supporting businesses concerned about personnel shortages after COVID

HOSHIZAKI CORPORATION (Head office: Toyoake City, Aichi; President & COO: Yasuhiro Kobayashi; hereafter “Hoshizaki”) has developed its smallest ever compact commercial dishwasher and will begin selling it through Hoshizaki’s sales companies in early September 2023.

Businesses are unable to install dishwashers for a number of reasons

By utilizing its forte of a direct-sales network and listening closely to the views of its customers in the food industry, Hoshizaki strives to quickly develop, manufacture, and sell products that provide solutions for its customers. While listening to what its customers had to say, Hoshizaki identified many cases at the likes of restaurants, nursing facilities, and nurseries unable to install a dishwasher for various reasons such as budget constraints, a lack of space, power supply capacity, and water supply and drainage work. Some of these businesses introduced a household dishwasher, but they face issues relating to time, processing capability, and functions in using it for commercial purposes.
The issue of a lack of personnel is also severe. Many businesses also explain that due to the impact of temporarily cutting staff during the COVID pandemic, many staff have not returned since the reclassification of COVID-19 to Class 5. In order to establish a more attractive work environment, with no need for manual dishwashing to demotivate the staff, Hoshizaki believes that some businesses would look to install a commercial dishwasher if it meets their conditions.

A new offering of a commercial compact tabletop dishwasher

To resolve these issues, Hoshizaki developed its first compact commercial dishwasher that can be installed on a tabletop. Hoshizaki was able to reduce the volume of its current smallest dishwasher*1 by 37%. Fitted with functions that are needed for commercial use, the new dishwasher can be installed in locations with limited space with minimal installation work.

Hoshizaki will continue working to reduce environmental impact through its products with a view to being an “evolving company” that can contribute to society.

Installable by using existing facilities
By using hot water from the existing faucet (hot water branch) and draining through the sink, there is no need for major water supply and drainage work. The new dishwasher can be installed in locations that could not previously introduce a dishwasher because of installation work.

Commercial Compact Dishwasher
JW-100A

Enables continuous washing of large volumes with approximately 6-minute cycles*2 and a highly versatile rack
By using hot water from the faucet, it takes no time to heat water to be used in the dishwasher, achieving a washing time of about six minutes*2 a cycle.
By alternatively using the two removable racks that are fitted as standard, it is possible to perform 10 washes per hour.
The racks are very versatile, making it easy to change the layout to suit the items being washed. In commercial use where it is common for tableware to be the same shape, a large amount of tableware can be washed in one go.

High washing performance
With the upper and lower rotary spray arms, hot water is sprayed directly onto all tableware from the top and bottom. The new dishwasher provides high washing performance, circulating 4.8 L of water to provide a powerful stream of water equivalent to 100 L per minute*3 for the top and bottom combined.

Reduction of cost and impact on the environment by using less electricity and water
The new dishwasher consumes less electricity*4 and can also be used in environments with limited power capacity.
The dishwasher uses less water*5 compared to washing by hand, allowing the user to save on water.
When performing continuous washing, the last rinsing water of the previous cycle is reused as washing water in the next cycle.
